On Saturday, August 29, the historic setting of the Gardens of Palazzo d'Avalos in Vasto hosted "South Next", an installation-event dedicated to promoting emerging young designers from Southern Italy. We were there too, with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to make a tangible contribution to the growth of the next generation of fashion talent.
A project for young talent
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Vasto thanks to the commitment of the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, organized by Garone Srl under the artistic direction of Irene Libbi, was created with a clear objective: to provide young creatives from Southern Italy with a meaningful platform for visibility, building a tangible bridge between education, the local community and the professional fashion industry.
"South Next" gave the selected designers the opportunity to present their collections and creative vision in a setting designed to encourage dialogue, networking and new professional opportunities—an important step towards building a creative ecosystem capable of establishing our region as a place of excellence for new generations.
A genuine moment of exchange, where experience and new ideas came together, offering participants valuable tools and perspectives to take their first steps in an industry that is constantly evolving.
Our participation
Representing our company at the Gardens of Palazzo d'Avalos was Barbara Catania, Managing Director and Women's Buyer, who, together with Annagemma Lascari, Letizia Schatzinger & Martina Corsi, guided young graduates and emerging designers through a comprehensive exploration of the fashion industry: from the principles of Buying and creative direction to the more practical aspects of the profession.
Looking to the future
Being part of "South Next" means much more to us than simply attending an event: it is an opportunity to share our experience with the next generation of designers, believe in the creative potential of our region and continue building authentic connections between those who have been working in fashion for years and those who are entering the industry today with energy and new perspectives.
