The Adidas chunky runner phenomenon enters a new chapter: launching on 1 August, the XLG Runner Deluxe 2.0 arrives in a refined cream colourway designed to appeal to fans of technical streetwear.
A design that blends running heritage with contemporary streetwear. The XLG Runner Deluxe draws inspiration from early-2000s running silhouettes, reinterpreted through the aesthetic codes of the “chunky” movement that has brought brands such as Salomon, Asics and New Balance back into the spotlight in recent years. With the 2.0 version, Adidas takes the concept even further: the Deluxe line stands apart from the standard XLG Runner thanks to its more refined finishes and multilayered construction, which gives the shoe a sculptural, voluminous character.
Style KZ7205 features a breathable mesh upper combined with synthetic materials, presented in a cream shade that recalls the beige and off-white tones increasingly sought after across the collection’s clean colourways. A deliberately distressed finish completes the design, adding depth and an industrial-retro character to the silhouette. One of the defining features of the XLG Runner Deluxe 2.0 is its tonal flat-lace system, which wraps around the shoe to create a three-dimensional interplay of volumes inspired by avant-garde aesthetics. More than a decorative detail, the lacing becomes a genuine architectural element woven across the upper, complemented by pull tabs on the heel and tongue for easier wear. Additional laces are included in the box, allowing each pair to be further personalised.
The Deluxe line stands out for its refined finishes and multilayered construction, giving the shoe a sculptural and voluminous character.
Comfort and technology: the DREAMSTRIKE midsole. Beneath its maximalist aesthetic, the XLG Runner Deluxe 2.0 conceals a highly technical construction. The DREAMSTRIKE midsole delivers cushioning and comfort for everyday wear, while the 5 cm-high rubber outsole creates the bold silhouette typical of chunky sneakers without compromising stability or grip. The result is a shoe that, despite its substantial volume, maintains a surprisingly lightweight feel—one of the most appreciated features of previous XLG colourways.
Mark 1 August in your calendar: the Adidas XLG Runner Deluxe 2.0 in cream will be available in our boutiques and online at filippomarchesani.com.
